The Italian National Tourist Board, supervised by the Ministry of Tourism, adopts its own accounting and administrative regulations.

The Board performs all the functions and tasks attributed to it by law in the pursuit of its mission of promoting tourism.

Among other things, ENIT is responsible for:

1. foreign promotion of the image of Italian tourism and the various types of tourism offered by Italy;
2. developing national and international promotional and information strategies abroad, to support enterprises in marketing Italian tourism products;
3. promoting the Italy trademark in the tourism sector;
4. facilitating the marketing of typical local products and crafts, in Italy and abroad;
5. carrying out the activities assigned by law, the articles of association and regulations with particular use of digital media, technological platforms and the Internet through the management of the “Italia.it” portal;
6. carrying out and organising consultancy and assistance activities and services for the State and the Regions;
7. implementing agreements and forms of collaboration with public Entities and with the Offices of the diplomatic-consular network of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, including the Institutes of Culture.
